What we did

  • Content Design
  • Sustainable Website Design
  • UX Design
  • UI Design

This award-winning, low-carbon website positions Business to Arts as leaders in their field, bringing in more inbound leads and boosting client relations.

The Challenge

Business to Arts partners with businesses to find ways to support the arts while delivering a return on investment for businesses. The previous website had become cluttered and confusing to users. It was difficult to understand the offering and benefits. The main challenge was to make the services they offer, the impact of their work and how they add value for members much clearer.

The Approach

We focused on information, content, and interaction design to deliver a clear and concise message. The visual language was crafted to equally appeal to businesses and the arts sector, positioning Business to Arts as the ideal partner for creative collaborations. Sustainable web design principles further aligned with their mission and reduced the site’s carbon footprint.

Solution

A user-centric, visually engaging website was developed, clearly communicating Business to Arts’ offerings. We incorporated logical information architecture and a clean layout that simplifies navigation and supports lead generation. The visual design strikes a balance between creative vibrancy and business professionalism. Sustainability principles informed our technical decisions, optimising load speeds, and using renewable hosting to reduce energy consumption.

Innovation in Sustainability

The sustainability goals of the Business to Arts website were central to the design process. Our approach focused on optimising energy use and reducing carbon emissions by implementing efficient design strategies. We chose system fonts to reduce demand, a dark homepage colour scheme for power savings, and small image sizes to lower resource use. The site is hosted on servers powered by 100% renewable energy, achieving an A+ Carbon Rating and emitting only 0.06 g of CO2 per visit—cleaner than 95% of websites globally. Content audits and efficient coding ensure long-term sustainability.

The Result

  • A clear, cohesive website driving lead generation
  • Enhanced communication of the value and impact of Business to Arts
  • A+ Carbon Rating, cleaner than 95% of all web pages globally
  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance for web accessibility
  • Award-winning design, recognised at the IDI Irish Design Awards 2023
