Ensuring accessing information on homeless services in the Dublin region is easily accessible across all devices
Path designed and developed a new website for the Dublin Region Homeless Executive (DRHE), a central platform providing access to services, supports, and information for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Dublin.
A core audience includes individuals in vulnerable and often urgent situations, seeking immediate access to accommodation services. The platform also supports service providers, outreach workers, policy makers, and the wider public in navigating available supports.
Our role was to create a clear, accessible, and reliable website that enables users to quickly find relevant information and take action. Through collaborative workshops, we defined key user journeys, information architecture, and content structures to ensure that critical services could be accessed with minimal friction.
As many service users access the site via mobile, we adopted a mobile-first approach, ensuring key actions, such as finding phone numbers or locating nearby services, are immediate and easy to access, even in high-stress situations.
Accessibility was central to the project. The website was designed in line with WCAG 2.1 AA standards, with a strong focus on readability, clarity, and ease of navigation across devices. Particular care was taken to reduce cognitive load and support users with varying levels of digital confidence.
The website also includes data visualisation dashboard with up to date trends and figures on homelessness in the region.
The result is a clear and dependable platform that supports users in urgent situations, improves access to essential services, and enables clear communication with stakeholders.
