A new online presence for Ireland’s national music touring and development organisation

Music Network is Ireland’s national music touring and development organisation. With a diverse range of projects and individual activities being showcased on their previous site, they realised users were unclear about what the organisation does on a strategic level. The format, which foregrounded concerts, was restrictive and failed to give as users context as they landed on the site.

The new website gives users a clear picture of what Music Network is and does. The hero section on the homepage is flexible; it can succinctly communicate their purpose or be used to temporarily promote a specific project. The main menu now allows users to scan through different sections and discover projects or easily find what they are looking for.

The visual design was created to reflect a government funded national arts organisation that is professional, effective, and sophisticated while still being warm and accessible and modern. The site was designed in accordance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards aligned to EN 301 549.
